Ancestral Tombstones
Some people find the study of cemeteries and gravestones to be morbid, but they are one of the best historical records of a family's past.
They provide the dates of ancestors, and by their location often give clues about the movements of families.
The Gaucher family ancestors are buried in cemeteries across Canada, and much effort has been made to locate and photograph these historical tombstones.
Unfortunately, the markers for earlier generations have disappeared altogether. Many were made of wood, and although we know which cemetery they are buried in, the exact location of the gravesites is no longer known.
